Welcome to Broome CIRCLE Crèche Service. We provide an Unlicensed Crèche Service to families who live in (or are visiting) the Shire of Broome. We offer care for children aged 2 months to 5 years. We extend a warm welcome to you and your family. We hope that our time together will be filled with many magical moments, new friendships and connections to deepen your child(ren)’s learning journey.
We actively seek to provide an inclusive environment that will not limit, but enhance children’s abilities. Our program is age/stage, developmentally appropriate and is very much about spontaneous, open-ended, play-based learning. We support learning through creativity, free thinking, art and craft, music, storytelling, routines and rituals. We seek to make full use of opportunities for intentional teaching, without inhibiting the natural progression of individual learning potential. We take a holistic approach and support every child in our care to experience the joy and wonder of childhood. We strive for every child in our care to experience a genuine sense of belonging, where they can have space and time to be themselves.
All of the above stated will be supported by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is a guide for Early Childhood Educators. Through a series of principles, practices and learning outcomes it sets out key ideas about the way in which we work with young children. The Council of Australian Governments has developed this Framework to assist educators to provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. Their vision is that: “All children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the Nation.” Fundamental to the Framework is a view of children’s lives characterised by ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’. The Framework conveys the highest expectations for all children’s learning from birth to 5 years and through the transition to school.
It communicates these expectations through the following 5 Learning Outcomes:
Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
Outcome 2: Children are connected and contribute to their world
Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of well being
Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
Broome CIRCLE aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children while parents/carers remain on the premises, engaged in Broome CIRCLE activities. As this is a Crèche facility, Broome CIRCLE is bound by legalities stating parents/carers still remain responsible for their own children.
ThisCrèche Service is not a licensed Child Care Service. Crèche services provide short term care for children while their parents/carers participate in an activity, program, meeting or other event . You, as the parent/carer, maintain responsibility for your child. This means that you must :
- remain on the premises
- return immediately to your child if requested to do so by Crèche staff.
To operate legally without a child care licence, Crèche services must meet certain requirements about:
- the age of children able to attend Crèche
- how often children can attend Crèche
- the staff caring for your child(ren).
Please talk to Crèche staff if you need more information or have any concerns. We hope you and your child(ren) enjoy your Crèche experience.
If you have a complaint about a Crècheor a child care service you should contact the Child Care Licensing and Standards Unit: PH: 1800 199 383 web: www.communities.wa.gov.au
