At Broome CIRCLE we aim to bring all members of the community together. We have programs for children and adults, specific interest groups and general skill development. Please see our timetable below for current activities, and we welcome your suggestions of additional programs you would like to see. Adult Programs

Writing Winning Grants

This four week course will get you on the road to developing your project, and writing a grant proposal to turn your idea into reality. Defining your project, The language of grant writing, Program Logic, SMART Objectives, Resources and Budgeting, Activity Schedules, Monitoring and Evaluation
Led by Phillip Walker, 20+ years local and international grant-writing experience, with guest presenters

Life Drawing

Join our co-op of artists keeping their hand in on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 – 5:00. Refine your practice with a supportive group and terrific model. Join for a six week course or attend a single session.
Third term dates: 26th August, commence again on 16th September - 14th October Saturdays 2:00-5:00 PM

Sewing CIRCLE

A six week class for beginners learning to sew and intermediates learning to use a pattern and making it fit.
BYO machine.

El Chap's Espanol

Are you travelling South America? Do you love sangria? Planning on running with the bulls?? Learn Spanish with the original El Chap. Share Nachos and Corona in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All abilities welcome

Time Out

Enjoy some time out from - the weather, kids, housework or whatever.
Put your kids in crèche while you have a chat and coffee, study, do art or craft or simply relax!
Families may attend for up to 3 hours.

Hatha Yoga

Join Shelley for a stretch and relaxation session and enjoy the enormous benefits of Yoga. Come and practice some Hatha Yoga, while your children enjoy time in the crèche.

Parents and Parenting Programs

Happy Healthy Bubs

Fussy eating, stages of eating development of children (following on from intro to solids). Weight loss post baby. Answer any other nutrition questions you have. Tuesday 10:30-11:30 followed by an hour catch up. Bring a plate to share. Creche bookings essential.

New Parents Program

A free 8 week educational program for parents with new babies run by health professionals.
Bring your baby (0-12 months) and a rug/towel. Crèche available if required.

Broome Parenting Support Group

For parents of children displaying challenging behaviour or who may have a disability. Are you supporting a child with a diagnosed disability? Are you struggling to navigate through support services? Are you worried that your child may have a disability? Help form a group of families to support families.
Crèche available if required - need to be booked and paid for in advance to secure your spot
Dates: 22nd September and every fourth Friday of the month 09:00-10:30 AM

Let's Sleep

A free program to support parents and carers of children aged 6 to 12 months experiencing sleep and settling issues. Helping your children to go to sleep and get enough sleep can take time, and for many parents can be exhausting. This workshop is designed to give some help so that sleep in your household works for everyone. Crèche available if required (for siblings).

Parenting Connections - Let's talk about behaviour

Young children can be challenging. Join in, share and learn about some ideas to help you deal with some of the behaviours that this age group challenge us with and how we can encourage the behaviours we want. For parents of 2-5 year olds.

Mums with Bubs Yoga

Practice playful bonding yoga with your baby while working on toning and strengthening your body. For pre-crawling bubs. 
 

Community First Aid

St John's Community First Aid Course Covers Adult and infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Injury management, Allergic and anaphylactic reactions, Choking and airway obstruction.

Steiner Inspired Playgroup

In Steiner philosophy, there are three themes to childhood.
The theme of the early childhood years is the world is good, or 'Goodness'.
Themes that inform a Steiner Kindergarten:
The Senses; Imitation; Self-Directed Creative Play; Rhythms
9 week program, please bring a piece of fruit to share for morning tea. Age groups: 0-2, 3-5.

Cooking Stars

We are offering fun, educational after school cooking classes for 6-12 year olds. 
Our 6 week program will help children to discover the joys of cooking and eating the food that has been prepared with their very own hands.

Art Stars

Let your child immerse themselves in creativity and explore their artistic side. Art Stars is a 6 week program offering your child facilitated art experiences. Participants will complete 3 projects using 3 different mediums. The program finishes with an exhibition. For children aged 6-12yrs.

Playgroup

Speakers Unlimited

Speakers Unlimited is a new series at Broome CIRCLE. Each month we invite one of our inspiring community leaders to raise our awareness and present new ideas.
Everyone loves the Kimberley but what does the future hold? Who makes the decisions that determine our future? What can we do to make sure future generations will thank us for our custodianship of the land and sea? Environs Kimberley Executive Director Martin Pritchard's insightful talk will inform and challenge thinking about the future of the Kimberley. Light Refreshments provided.

Annual Christmas Craft Market

You are invited to have a stall to showcase and sell local made arts and crafts and join the fun of our Annual Christmas Craft Market 2017. Trestle size table spots will be $15 each (approx 180 mm x 75 mm).
You can purchase extra space (eg. clothes rack, extra table) for $5.

Edible CIRCLE-Fresh Food Share

Does your garden have excess produce & you’re keen to swap with other growers?
Has tomato mania struck your vegie patch?! Well then, get your green thumb on…..
Come and join your community at Broome CIRCLE when we host the Edible CIRCLE, a fresh food, seed and plant swap on the grounds of Broome Community House.
No need to book or register…. Just come along.

Pindan Patches / Craft Group

Pindan Patches and Craft are a group of both locals and visitors to Broome, who get together for sewing and craft.
We welcome all levels of expertise and are wiling to share our knowledge- “Learners Welcome”
We also do sewing for community groups as the need arises.
Morning and Afternoon Tea supplied. Good company and fellowship guaranteed.
